This STATPHYS satellite meeting will bring together physicists working in the broad field of soft matter. The main objective is to share different perspectives on collective phenomena arising in soft materials internally, or externally, driven out of equilibrum. Typical examples include: collective motion and pattern formation in active matter, propagation and flows in heterogeneous soft solids, and more generically non-equilibrium phase transitions in soft and active materials.
The meeting will take place over five days (June 27-01 July 2016) and be held at the Marine Station of Roscoff, France. It will feature 14 invited talks and ~26 selected oral presentations. The number of participant will be restrained to 40 to foster informal meetings and discussions in a convivial atmosphere.
